This is a demo recording from 2008 of a song written in that year. The Story of Yourself reflects my struggles at that time to find my voice as an artist and be myself. As the lyric says 'for me the problem has been trying to be someone else'.
The chorus presents a cynical view about the chances of being heard which is then countered later in the song by 'I know it's not that bad'.
I guess it's a song about people who don't fit in, or feel that they don't fit in.
I have a slightly different ending, not heard here, to the lyric:
'There's no-one else
Who thinks like you
Who'll tell the true
Story of yourself'
